Session Two - The Haunted Ship

[2023/07/27 15:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: Last I recall, Debben was being arrested, Leesha was coming back from the temple district, and Megan was not being involved in guard brutality.
[2023/07/27 15:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: Apparantly these are key steps in solving the mystery of the haunted ship :)
[2023/07/27 15:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: So, I guess we see what Debben does to make this situation worse :P

[2023/07/27 15:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: /me goes back a little: the two guards are unamused at the attempt to use magic, and one says: "You're under arrest, you're coming with us."
[2023/07/27 15:33] Alicia Frakture: Leesha has no idea what is going on as she heads back to the inn, still keeping her eyes open for anyone shady
[2023/07/27 15:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: you're back -just- in time to catch Debben being arrested...
[2023/07/27 15:36] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "What am I charged with?" she demands to know.
[2023/07/27 15:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Suspicious activity," says one. "Aiding and abetting," says the other, and the first one goes on, "Unauthorized magic use within city limits," and the second one adds, "Resisting arrest."
[2023/07/27 15:38] Alicia Frakture: Leesha tries to think fast.. and yes her head hurts from it." You found my sister, I found the temple to remove your curse."She looks at the guard."Thank you so much for finding her.."
[2023/07/27 15:39] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Since when is magic use prohibited within city limits?" SHe latches onto the angle she can mostly easily argue against.
[2023/07/27 15:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Oi!" says one of the city guards, stepping back to see Leesha. "It's not prohibited, but you need a licence," the second one says. (Licences in the medieval world were a thing, even beggers had to have a licence.)
[2023/07/27 15:43] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at him. "See we can go get that license after the temple. See she saved me from a curse but got it herself. Now in a stressful situation she just acts instead of thinking things through, all her self control... whoop" She paused. we gotta get rid of the curse, because you know getting a license can be stressful."
[2023/07/27 15:43] Alicia Frakture: **Starting to think I should have played a rogue.**
[2023/07/27 15:44] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: And being in some sort of weird time travel situation she never actually got a license. All she had to do was sit still and wait for the problems to pass her by, but no she had to think she could skedaddle out the front flipping door. And now an orc is pretending to be her sister. Might as well work with it! "Le! You made it! These guards are claiming that I'm in their way somehow, I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding."
[2023/07/27 15:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Oh no you don't," says the first guard, and they reach for the scabbards at their sides. "This sounds like just the kind of lunatics behind these wierd deaths! You're both coming with us!"
[2023/07/27 15:45] Alicia Frakture: Leesha motions to her as she looks at the guards."see what I mean. It is truly tragic."
[2023/07/27 15:45] Alicia Frakture: Wait what weird deaths?
[2023/07/27 15:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: At about this moment in time the guard from earlier steps out of the tavern, wiping her knuckles. She nearly walks into the lot of you. "What the... What's going on here!?"
[2023/07/27 15:51] Alicia Frakture: Leesha being the one currently uncuffed looks at the guard. I went to find a temple to uncurse my sister. I come back they're arresting her and trying to do the same to me, and I just got back.
[2023/07/27 15:52] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben tries to think fast as well, brain somewhat scattered from everything already going wrong, and looking for a possible angle. Really at this point she needs either an escape route or someone willing to vouch for her. Maybe the temple will work....
[2023/07/27 15:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: The two guards pipe up. "She came out and tried to turn us into newts, or something! Probably the one that made that guy earlier think his arm got turned to worms or something. And you said to watch out for suspicious characters leaving the tavern after you, she's definitely suspicious!"
[2023/07/27 15:54] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (Oh yeah, that guy!)
[2023/07/27 15:54] Alicia Frakture: You can turn people into newts? when did that happen?

[2023/07/27 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: The female guard, who appears to be in charge, just looks at Debben. "Do you idiots really think that a flipping dwarf and someone with green skin are really going to be criminals in hiding? Bloody well let her go. And.... that's actually a good point..." (she says to Debben) "... where's your magic licence?"
[2023/07/27 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: (That's probably the guards' embellishment!)
[2023/07/27 15:56] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Upon being asked she starts checking her pockets for something paper like she can make it seem to be a valid magic license. (What's the check to try and psychic-paper these guys? )
[2023/07/27 15:56] Alicia Frakture: **I know i was playing into it as if that's a new one to Leesha**
[2023/07/27 15:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: (You can try, but it'll more than likely fail and get you even more trouble! :P)
[2023/07/27 15:57] Alicia Frakture: /me Leesha doesn't realize what Debben is doing."She doesn't have one, we are new and were going to get one once the curse was removed.. we had no idea."
[2023/07/27 15:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: The female guard raises her hands as if her head was about to fall off. "Just get outta here! You're in danger of blowing an important operation! Get a flipping magic licence and don't you come before me again! And you two idiots - " (this to the guards) "- back to the bloody barracks!"
[2023/07/27 16:01] Alicia Frakture: Come on sis, once they uncuff you we can go to the temple.
[2023/07/27 16:01] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Right!" She decides not to try to fake it and makes haste away from the situation, thankfully they don't seem to have gotten as far as actually cuffing her.
[2023/07/27 16:02] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks around for Megan and motions for her to join them as the start to walk away.
[2023/07/27 16:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guard uncuffs you, gives you both a glare, and hurries after the other two guards. Which... is about the point that Megan leaves the tavern next, also nearly walking into you. "You two! You missed all the excitement!"
[2023/07/27 16:04] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "What, where some luckless cardshark got his teeth smashed into a table?"
[2023/07/27 16:05] Alicia Frakture: We can talk while we walk...*Leesha looks around to make sure all the guards are gone.*
[2023/07/27 16:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Close! That guard grabbed that guy, hauled him off and beat the snot out of him!"
[2023/07/27 16:07] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Exactly why I wasn't very excited to be in there." She shudders. "I'm lucky that lieutenant already got had her beating quota met and wasn't interested in me specifically."

[2023/07/27 16:07] Alicia Frakture: "Almost had that here..So yeah, let's get to the "temple." She said as she made air quotes.
[2023/07/27 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Something wierd going on," Megan says. "So... now what we doing?"
[2023/07/27 16:08] Alicia Frakture: Off to Granny Grumph".. I think we need to get out of town anyway."
[2023/07/27 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: "But... the ship...? What about that, and the reward?"
[2023/07/27 16:10] Alicia Frakture: You already know my opinion on the ship.
[2023/07/27 16:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: (So... you're abandoning that quest?)
[2023/07/27 16:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She sighs. "So the guards are already annoyed with us, I have no leads on what the ghost is mad about, it's tossed us from the ship twice, and the bard who was our original reason to even hear about it has skedaddled already."

[2023/07/27 16:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: /me calculates XP awards... which aren't great.
[2023/07/27 16:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "If I had a way to actually stop a ghost that was worth something, maybe. But right now? I'm more likely to get my skull brained in than to actually solve the problem."

[2023/07/27 16:16] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks for some rats to collect for Granny."Should be a day and a half, two days."
[2023/07/27 16:16] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "So we'll have to overnight in the wilds again?"
[2023/07/27 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Not sure I like the sound of that," says Megan, frowning, "Not after that night..."
[2023/07/27 16:18] Alicia Frakture: /me nods."Probably, but we still have camping stuff." She looks at Megan, "we can walk through the night if you want or maybe travel with a caravan going that way."
[2023/07/27 16:19] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Eh, how many dead bodies with the tops of their heads missing can there be..."
[2023/07/27 16:19] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Know anywhere we could stay on the way? Walking through the night sucks...." She pauses. "Caravan might work. Hire on as guards."
[2023/07/27 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: (It'll be a days walk north, then about a day towards the mountains. Not a popular route, per se.)
[2023/07/27 16:20] Alicia Frakture: There were two of those bodies in the water under the ship.
[2023/07/27 16:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Maybe we should get a cleric... I mean, another cleric, one who has power over undead... just in case?"
[2023/07/27 16:22] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "At least some holy water, yeah. I got salt already."
[2023/07/27 16:22] Alicia Frakture: Extra clerics would be good."Nothing against you but this is a time where we need too much of a good thing."

[2023/07/27 16:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: (There are many, many gods that are worshipped, some widely, some rarely. Some real... some not!)
[2023/07/27 16:28] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She's focusing her attention on the temples that seem like they're actually getting traffice
[2023/07/27 16:30] Alicia Frakture: Leesha pauses."So how exactly does one find a cleric to travel with us?"

"Hello, I'm visiting here and noticed you both looking around. is there something you are seeking? Im Dahlia, and very nice to make your acquaintance"

[2023/07/27 16:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Some have statues, some don't. Some you know, like Blind Io, or Artemis. Others... you don't.)

[2023/07/27 16:33] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks around for any thing with Flyers or pieces of paper listing Clerics looking to take journeys
[2023/07/27 16:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Hello Dahlia. We're about to take a trip.... north I think?" She glances to Leesha to check, "And we're worried about the dangers along the road. I've been bothered by too many ghosts this month already."
[2023/07/27 16:36] Alicia Frakture: Leesha turns around as she hears Debben."Yeah, yeah north and then towards the mountains."

Travelling north does sound interesting. If your seeking a priestess's aid along the journey , I am experienced in expeditions with those of my faith and quite willing to travel north for the price of a tithe to the faith.selune

[2023/07/27 16:41] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben considers this, actually happening to have... decentish amounts of gold at the moment. "Might I ask how experienced?"
[2023/07/27 16:44] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me the priestess smiled and spoke up to answer, "A small tithe , lets say 100 gold to the churches coffers. It would definently please the goddess and she would likely shine favour upon our journey.", she took a breath then and spoke, "Well not much but wanting to gain much more. Ivebeen on a trip between temples before that brought me here. Also helped with moving the high priestess's belongings once from her quarters in the temple to her new home all the way across the town"
[2023/07/27 16:46] Alicia Frakture: /me blinks.."I'm sorry, did you say 100?"
[2023/07/27 16:46] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Ooof, I don't actually have that much." She frowns. "100 gold for someone who's just gone between a few temples seems... steep. Do you know how to... defend yourself in the wilds even?"
[2023/07/27 16:51] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me she answered then more excited, "Well a tithe of any amount to the Goddess would make it so i could travel with you and i can defend myself and wield the magic the Goddess allows. I also have my own weapons too so not too worried about the wilds. i can also cook if that helps, i do hope you tithe and I can come with you , travelling north sounds exciting, might even get to see more towns." she was already checking her pack and making sure her robes too were ready to travel as they spoke
[2023/07/27 16:53] Alicia Frakture: Leesha perks hearing this."You cook? Me too! we can trade recipes as we walk." She looks at Debben all I got are silver and copper. Used my gold to heal my wounds
[2023/07/27 16:54] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "I can manage 10 gold," she admits, eyeing this priestess to try and get their measure to see if she's likely to be still overpaying at that rate.
[2023/07/27 16:55] Alicia Frakture: /me realizes she had a pouch by her backside, and opens it."Okay forgot that was there."As she adds 10 Gold to the tithe.
[2023/07/27 16:58] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me "20 gold is far from the usual 100 the other priestess's would usually demand to be paid to the temple for services. But they are all far more experienced and have travelled far and wide, i think the Goddess would still smile upon our journey even with the 20 as it would allow one of her oracles to travel with and aid you", she pulled the strap of her pack tight to her shoulder looking quite ready to go, "So North is it, I'm ready to go when you are"
[2023/07/27 16:59] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben opens her own wallet as well to cover her half of it, trying not to grumble too much. Maybe things will work out. "I'm basically ready to go, still prepped from the last time we were traveling."

[2023/07/27 17:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's a fortunately uneventful journey to the city gate, and then the road north... the sun is starting to dip low in the sky when you're aware of some group approaching from behind. Looking back, you see a rather haughty-ish looking guy on a horse, with a half dozen guys walking behind, carrying packs.
[2023/07/27 17:06] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Does he seem haughty like nobility or haughty like a wandering necromancer?
[2023/07/27 17:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: More like the noble sort; he calls out, "You there! Travellers!"
[2023/07/27 17:07] Alicia Frakture: Leesha pauses a moment."Who, us?"
[2023/07/27 17:07] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben slumps her shoulders and moves over to the side of the road so that the man on the horse can pass ahead of her.
[2023/07/27 17:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: The man on the horse looks at you all, one by one, finally he looks to Leesha. "You!" he points. "Yes, you, the green one! What's your business... are you evil?"
[2023/07/27 17:08] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me looked to her travelling companions and then toward the person on the horse coming closer...moved then following Debben to give the horse room to pass
[2023/07/27 17:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan mutters and steps aside likewise, hoping Leesha doesn't do... well, anything!
[2023/07/27 17:10] Alicia Frakture: /me points to her face and smiles."Does this look like the face of evil?" And before he can respond."No I'm not evil. and as for business I'm just on my way out of town after needing a healer."
[2023/07/27 17:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: The man makes a thoughtful noise, but he goes on, "Yet you have the green skin of the evil ones."
[2023/07/27 17:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "What does evil even mean in this context?"
[2023/07/27 17:11] Alicia Frakture: Only half green one. I got my being good and smarts from my dads side."
[2023/07/27 17:12] Alicia Frakture: The ummm not green side.
[2023/07/27 17:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: The man looks from Leesha to Dahlia, and Megan, then to Debben. "Evil..." he says, as if that's the answer, and doesn't need explaining. Then he goes on, a little suspiciously, "What's your business out here?"
[2023/07/27 17:13] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me she chuckled and still keeping out of the way of the horse passing, looked then towards the one on the horse with a confused look and continued to listen
[2023/07/27 17:14] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( We're on the road, right? ))
[2023/07/27 17:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: (You are.)
[2023/07/27 17:14] Alicia Frakture: Leesha steps to the side."Going to go visit my poor old granny. She doesn't have much left and she wanted to see her grandkid."
[2023/07/27 17:15] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben nods, peering at the people behind this noble jerk, trying to estimate how much of a threat they could be seperate from the man on the horse. Granted, even one skilled guy on a mount is pretty dangerous on their own.
[2023/07/27 17:16] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Granny, eh. Well. I guess there must be good if you respect your elders." He appears to come to a decision. "It's getting late, I should be making camp soon. Perhaps you ladies might join me."
[2023/07/27 17:17] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( How late is it? ))
[2023/07/27 17:17] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at her companions to say yay or nay.
[2023/07/27 17:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Getting to be early evening. You'll need to stop within the hour, certainly)
[2023/07/27 17:18] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me she kept to the edge of the road and watched on , but hearing the mans words now she spoke towards her companions, "Interesting offer, what do you think ?"
[2023/07/27 17:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan: "At least they got the tops of their heads."
[2023/07/27 17:19] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben frowns a bit, considering the reasons this noble who has not announced their name would be interested in stopping a party of all females on the road. She also considers that they seem to be outnumbered. "I'm thinking it would be dangerous to refuse the offer."
[2023/07/27 17:21] Alicia Frakture: /me nods, "sounds good."
[2023/07/27 17:23] Sonja Bikergrrl: The man issues commands to his men, who start to erect a rather large tent and take his horse as he dismounts. A pot is quickly filled with water and put to boil, and the man stretches, wincing as he does so. "Well met, I am Sir Roebuck, of the Kings' knights. The Kings' seer has prophesied that the forces of Evil might be defeated forever, if the spawn of a creature of pure Evil is raised to be Good. So I'm on a Quest."
[2023/07/27 17:24] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Wait, do you mean Ridcully? or am I thinking of the archmage?"
[2023/07/27 17:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: Sir Roebuck looks astonished. "You know Ridcully!?"
[2023/07/27 17:27] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "...Had the chance to meet him once or twice," she attempts to say humbly. "Very focused on future matters, much less on the present."
[2023/07/27 17:29] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me she nodded and listens to the man paying close attention to his words, then to her companions responses, eyes going wide at hearing of an Archmage
[2023/07/27 17:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: Sir Roebuck gets over his surprise. "Well, if you know Ridcully... you must be good...." He says to you, "The seer - not Ridcully, he's a mage. There's a difference...." he pauses, the difference between seers and mages being a fine point beyond most people, including him. "Anyway, that's the Quest... so, I'm looking for a creature of pure Evil. With a child...?"
[2023/07/27 17:31] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Deciding to deflect from her suspcions by asking funny questions, she replies, "We can keep an eye out. I imagine the seer didn't say exactly how pure... or what a diluted evil would be like."
[2023/07/27 17:31] Alicia Frakture: /me chuckles."Not sure if it counts as pure evil but there is a haunted ship where we came from."
[2023/07/27 17:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Aye, propechies are often unclear... and nay, probably not a ship. I've no idea what it might be, but if Evil might be defeated, I must seek this... this... whatever it is..."
[2023/07/27 17:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: And on that cliffhanger of what exactly is for dinner, we'll stop there!
[2023/07/27 17:33] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "But it would have to have a child, Leesha. imagine an evil rowboat...." She is surpressing her smirk, attempting to maintain a straight face.
